Susumu Amano (referred to by his last name Amano) is the captain of the Kamakura-Kita High School track club and Hitomi Kanzaki's crush.
As a national-record-holding sprinter and all-around friendly person, Amano gained popularity among his peers at Kamakura-Kita High School. He plays no small role in Hitomi's decision to join the track club, and her crush on him manifests itself in front of Yukari Uchida (Hitomi's best friend) as well as Amano himself. However, Hitomi discovers Amano is to leave the country to study abroad, and decides to ask him for her first kiss if she can sprint 100 meters in 13 seconds. The surprising appearance of a dragon and a prince causes Amano to try to grab Hitomi but she is gone and Amano is drawn into the ensuing drama.
While Hitomi is gone, Amano doesn't give up on searching for her. While at the track team's banquet, he pages her and she receives the message asking "Where are you?" on her pager. Amano and Yukari are also seen talking to Hitomi's mother, who tells them about her mother and how she was transported to another land during a summer festival.
In the final episode, two girls are overheard discussing that Amano and Yukari are dating and make the "perfect couple."
Trivia[]
- Amano strongly resembles Allen Schezar, which is emphasized in other ways: he has the same voice actor as Allen in the original Japanese and the Bandai English dub, they have the same initials (A.S.), and they have the same height and weight.
- In episode 3, Hitomi mistakes Allen for Amano. In episode 24, she mistakes Amano for Allen.
