Marlene Aston was the eldest Princess of Asturia and Duchess of Freid.
She was the wife of Duke Freid and mother of Chid Freid.

She has long blond hair and blue-violet eyes, and is shown wearing dark pink-red gowns along with white gloves and a circlet and torq.
History[]
Marlene was the eldest daughter of King Grava Aston and Therese Aston. During a day when her family decided that she spent too much time in her room, she accompanied her uncle to a tournament where she saw a young Allen Schezar. Soon after, the pair quickly fell into a secret romance, despite being a princess and eventually betrothed to Duke Freid.
Marlene had a close relationship with her youngest sister Princess Millerna, but no such connection was shown between her and Princess Eries.
Once in Freid, she eventually realized that her love for Allen was juvenile and fell in love with her husband the Duke, confessing this to him on her deathbed. She died three years after giving birth to her only son, Chid Freid, whose biological father is in fact Allen.
In the light novels, Marlene, believing that her youngest sister no longer needs her support as a caretaker now that she is older, is suffering from depression when she meets Allen. She is said to be two years older than Allen.
