An Asturian outpost commanded by Allen Schezar, located on the border between Asturia and Fanelia.
As opposed to the dignified Allen, the troops at Castelo are somewhat rowdy and might be considered, at least in Asturian society, to be slightly less "civilized." Regardless of their manners, Allen is shown to be quite friendly with and a caring commander to his troops, but not to the point that he tells them personal details about himself. When Hitomi gives him a reading in Episode 5, one of his troops remarks that "the Boss never talks about his past."
Story[]
When Allen captures Van and Hitomi, he takes them to Castelo where he tells them that Fanelia was burned to the ground. Zaibach attacks during their conversation, and Allen goes to fight them, forcing Hitomi and Allen to remain in captivity. Mole Man helps Van and Hitomi dig a path to Escaflowne, but Allen prevents them from getting away. Van and Allen fight inside Escaflowne and Scherazade respectively, and Allen's crew bets on the two Guymelefs. Soon after their fight, Allen and Van take care of Hitomi and Merle, and Dilandau attacks and burns Castelo to the ground. Hitomi, Merle, Allen, and Van escape on the Crusade, manned by Allen's crew.
Allen's crew also appears in the movie, albeit as members of the Abaharaki rather than associated with Fort Castelo. They are seen watching the fight between Van and Allen, as well as taking care of various duties on the Abaharaki caravan. In a lighthearted scene, they are observed running into Hitomi and acting strange, and she wonders if she really does look that outlandish to everyone.
